After graduating with a Bachelor's of Science from Stony Brook University, she joined the CHC team as an AmeriCorps member to implement the Project ECHO® model for Hepatitis C and HIV care in the multi-site Federally Qualified Health Center. After joining Weitzman in 2012, she worked to blend the line between traditional research projects and quality improvement projects, working with frontline Clinical Microsystems* providers to help develop more efficient models to treat patients with uncontrolled diabetes. She has continued to work on numerous other projects in her time here: establishing team-based chronic pain continuing medical education sessions, research on nursing-based care coordination models, and helping to write multiple successful grant applications. Khushbu's research interests include leveraging technology to increase the quality of healthcare and she has multiple publications in this area. Khushbu hopes to continue gaining valuable skills and experience at the Weitzman Institute to apply towards her own research projects one day.
