The purpose of this is to collect pilot data in support of the development of a research project proposal for competitive grant funding. Objectives are to test the feasibility of the key processes of the main study: 1) Patient eligibility criteria; 2)Refusal rates; 3) Study retention rates; and 4) Comprehensibility of the study questionnaire.


The future study will examine the effects of stress coping mechanisms on the mental and physical health of African American and Hispanic individuals with diabetes.
